Dry conditions over the weekend
As we head into the weekend, temperatures will start to rebound, which poses a fire risk across 72 counties in Minnesota. Due to very low relative humidity at 15 to 20 percent and wind gusts of around 35 to 45 miles per hour. This has brought on a Red Flag warning for Saturday, March 28, beginning at noon through 7 pm Saturday.
Twin-Cities Almanac:
Taking a look at the Daily Almanac for the region, our normal daytime high is around 47 degrees, with the record high set back in 1946 with an afternoon high of 75 degrees. The record low set back in 1910 was 57.
Next Week:
There is a chance of snow up north near International Falls, which will most likely be a minimal accumulation, around a half an inch to 2 ½ inches. For Central Minnesota and the Twin Cities, we will remain above average before our next storm system moves in. The timeline is looking to be Thursday into Friday. What we don’t know is whether it will mostly snow or be a chance of thunderstorms. There is a slight chance of scattered showers on Tuesday night.
