Minnesota’s Most Detailed Forecast: Dec. 19, 2025
Back end of the latest storm system:
Another storm system is behind us, and we will be in the wake of another warm-up ahead of the holidays. Thursday’s storm system brought strong winds and blizzard-like conditions in Northwestern and Southern Minnesota along parts of the I-94 and I-90 corridors.
Places like Beltrami, Fergus Falls, and Kasson saw wind gusts as high as 60 to 72 miles per hour. A record-breaking sustained wind gust was recorded in Berthoud Pass, Colorado, at 144 miles per hour. At International Falls, they saw snow totals of 3.7 inches. For now, there doesn’t look to be another storm system for a couple of weeks. If anything, we may see a few flurries.
Twin-Cities Almanac:
Taking a look at the Daily Almanac for the region, our normal daytime high is around 25 degrees, with the record high set back in 1923 with a temp of 50 degrees. The record low set back in 1983 was -12.
The highest snowfall, dating back to 1927, was 27 inches, and the record lowest snowfall was in 2023 with 0 inches recorded.
Tomorrow-The Weekend:
Looking ahead to this weekend, we will see temperatures in the mid 20s on Saturday and temps dropping to below zero. We will only warm up to around 16 degrees on Sunday. Sunday night, temperatures will start to increase overnight into the day on Monday.
Winds will be breezy out of the west-northwest, becoming calm on Sunday.
Next Week:
Looking ahead to the holidays, we will start to warm up after Monday. By the holidays, we will see temps in the low 30s. As of right now, I give all travel statuses a green light.
