Evening Update: Windy Saturday, Elevated Fire Risk

MINNESOTA THIS MORNING

Across most of the state, we started with chilly temperatures in the mid to upper 20s and colder as you went further north. Winds started to pick up shortly after sunrise.

A WINDY, DRY, AND COOL SATURDAY

The strong gusty winds are going to be a driving factor in our elevated fire risk. The Red Flag warning is still in effect till 7 pm tonight. The gusty winds are also causing our cooler temperatures.

WARMER SUNDAY AND BEGINNING OF THE WEEK

Heading into Sunday and Monday, temperatures will rebound, making their way into the upper 60s and low 70s. I would not be surprised if Southwestern Minnesota had the chance to see mid-70s. We will also see mostly clear skies through Monday night.

MINNESOTA 7 DAY FORECAST

Tuesday, we do have a chance of rain, but it looks to be scattered. Northern Minnesota also has the chance for mix precipiation on Tuesday in the early morning. Thursday into Friday, there is a chance of snow in extreme southeastern Minnesota. There also looks to be a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday.
